Pfahl Architects / Pfahl Custom Builders, led by Kevin and Susan Pfahl, is an award winning design / build team.  Through many years of focused dedication to clients and their projects, they have demonstrated mastery of the art and science of superior function and exquisite design while focusing on quality and fine craftsmanship.

Kevin and Susan Pfahl - have been designing, building and renovating homes and commercial / multi-family projects in the Charlotte area since the mid 1980's.  During that time, they have designed and build 120 new homes and been involved in over 100 major renovations and numerous commercial and multi-family projects including retail, condominiums, YMCAs restaurants, churches and offices.

Through years of intensive study, focus and hands on experience, Kevin and Susan have proven that quality and design excellence can be achieved at any price range.

Kevin Pfahl

• Registered Architect since 1981 (North Carolina, South Carolina)
• Principal of the Pfahl Companies, 1986 – present
• Managing partner for three residential sub-divisions including Wendover Hill, LLC and Belvedere Woods, LLC
• Previous Experience: Senior Associate project Designer with several large architectural firms focusing on both commercial and residential building
• Awards: Two NCAIA Design awards and a Gold Award from the Institute of Business Designers
• Highest Honors graduate of the University of Tennessee School of Architecture, 1978

• Past President – Plaza Midwood Neighborhood Association

Susan Pfahl

• Registered Architect since 1982
• Principal of Pfahl Architects and Pfahl Custom Builders, 1986 - present

• Previous Experience: Davidson College Campus Architect, IBM Charlotte Campus Architect, Project Architect with several local firms
• Honors graduate of the University of Tennessee School of Architecture, 1979
